Local veterans from the VA Hospital in Palm Beach County were recognized and honored at the Elks Lodge recently where they enjoyed a day of lunch, bingo and camaraderie with local Elks.
The veterans were greeted at their arrival by the Reverence Motorcycle Association, a group of active and retired law enforcement, first responders and veterans, who formed a flag line and thanked each of the veterans for their service.
The Reverence Motorcycle Association attends funerals, military welcome home ceremonies, honor flights and more to pay tribute to local heroes.
Once inside, the veterans were treated to lunch, prepared by Elks Lodge members and veterans committee members. The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is the oldest patriotic organization in the country, and members of the local Stuart-Jensen Lodge are active participants in the community, supporting several local causes, particularly veteran affairs.
The Stuart-Jensen Elks Lodge hosts the veterans once a month.
